She is also the US Managing Director of the international organization, Artfully AWARE. The mission is sustainable empowerment through the arts and Melissa is working hard to bring new programs to areas that have been stripped of arts-support and culture. Melissa teaches poetry, creative writing, songwriting and music, theater improvisation and music performance, in addition to teaching teachers how to incorporate the arts into their daily teaching lives.The arts are our history.
