Prayer for a Christmas
Eve
words & music by Melissa Kate Miller
Piano arrangement by Walter Kemp III
I have always loved a Christmas Song
playing in the stores all season long
but for me the season's not complete
til I find that moment Christmas eve
When the northern star alights the sky
all our loved ones dreaming deep nearby
I descend the stair
light the Christmas tree
say a little prayer and drift in reverie
In the solitude of silent eve
knowing all our gifts have been received
quiet little joys
lost in daylight noise
spirit me as high as snow caught upon
the breeze
in days of old and seasons past I feel
connected here at last
to what has come and what must go and so
have yourself a merry holiday
whether you are near or far away
as the silver snow blankets all the land
may there fall a peace and love in man
may this Christmas prayer be yours to
sing
may you know the joy the season brings
